Olga Sasunkevich is a board member and associated researcher at the Center for Gender Studies at European Humanities University (Vilnius, Lithuania). She holds M.A. in Sociology with specialization in Gender Studies.  In 2010 – 2012 she was a doctoral candidate in the framework of IRTG “Baltic Borderlands: Shifting Boundaries of Mind and Culture in the Borderlands of the Baltic Sea Region” at Greifswald University, Germany, in 2013 – a visiting doctoral student at the Center for European Studies at Lund University, Sweden (Visby scholarship from the Swedish Institute). Currently she is a Fulbright Visiting Researcher at the School of Social Transformations at Arizona State University, Tempe. She has recently completed her PhD dissertation on the history of female shuttle trade on the Belarus-Lithuania border. Her research interests include women’s labour participation, gender segregation and social and economic transformations in Eastern Europe after 1989.
